Yesterday's Fate

Let's bring it back.

I finished reading Flowers For Algernon yesterday as it was our Literature book and my mom threatened me to finish it or else I couldn't go out next week. So I diligently sat down and read Flowers For Algernon. I wasn't really expecting myself to like it despite the positive feedback from Jaime and Celeste. Veron said it was boring, and the genre of books I read are more similar to hers. I wasn't expecting myself to find it boring either, I just thought it would be OK.

Well, guess what? I cried at the end of the book. The first book that made me cry. That plot and everything was genius. The book is basically about a man in his 30s called Charlie Gordon. He has an IQ level of lower than a 100 and when he gets a chance to possibly get smarter by operating on him he jumps to the opportunity. But the experiment is just experimental but the scientists have tested it on a mouse named "Algernon" and it was going pretty well so far. And Charlie has to write down these progress reports for the scientists (the whole book is about him writing his progress reports. Kinda like a diary.)

At first his spelling's all screwed up and he can't spell properly. Then later you'd start to notice that he's able to spell properly and he soon becomes a super genius with an IQ level of what, 175? Once he gets smart, it's like everyone shuns him. Nobody at the bakery he used to work in likes him anymore, because he kind of made them look stupid so he was chased out. Also he got more antisocial because he was getting smarter and nobody could really understand what he was talking about.

He had a bad childhood so the memory of his childhood still haunts him and all that shit yer. Later, Algernon's condition deteriorates and he soon dies so everyone pretty much thinks Charlie is gonna die too. Of course, Charlie's condition deteriorates - you can see in the progress reports he was writing, that his spelling is getting worse and he realizes that he can't even understand the article that he wrote. In the last progress report (which really teared me up), he's spelling like he was before the operation.

I took about ... six hours to read it? (OMG SO LONG EW.) Actually the front part was not very interesting because you don't really realize him getting smarter but then slowly, he starts spelling properly and then it gets interesting. It just really upset me how Charlie knew he was gonna be ... retarded again but he couldn't do anything about it. :\

Now I have less than half of my iPod battery because I was listening to it while reading Flowers For Algernon. Damn man, I gotta buy that book. It's freakin' genius.

Oh, and Good morning my geeeeeeez! Hell yea I'm posting this at 8 19 AM in the morning because I set my alarm to 7 30 AM and it was ringing like a bitch so I turned it off and took a shower and here I am. Go read Flowers For Algernon if ya' haven't matez.

... Is it normal if I download Jason's "Do You Remember" video just so that I can see him look into the camera and go all happy? Whenever he looks at the camera my mouth immediately curves into a grin. I bet if Jason read this he would be really creeped out, cause I am. By myself.

That's what I heard.
